A visit to the Hill of Crosses in Lithuania
On a recent road trip story to the Baltic States, one of the points of interest to me was the ‘ Hill Of Crosses” close to the town of Siauliai in Lithuania. Over 100,000 crosses have ben counted on the hill including one a gift from Pope John II. The hill doesn’t disappoint, the shear impact of the place is a visual feast as a photographer. My visit was at noon on a hot bright day not ideal for moody lighting effects but the sculpture of the hill plus the lone cyclist helped with producing an interesting result.
